Hahn’s Peak Village Custom Log Home

I did interior and exterior finish work on a new log vacation home in Hahn’s Peak Village, about 30 miles north of Steamboat Springs in the Park Range. It’s a two story with a three car garage and a full walk-out basement that will remain unfinished for now. Here’s a shot of the front of the building:

The house has traditional framing on most walls and then half log exterior siding and interior paneling to make it look like an authentic log house. The advantage is structural strength and fully insulated walls. Here’s what the back of the house looked like early on:

The interior of the house is all wood. Half log paneling on the inside of the exterior walls and tongue and groove pine on all ceilings and interior walls. It was quite a bit of work. Here’s a view of the great room when the interior finish commenced:
